Good News

Not Gloomy, Not Hearty

At All Saints we don’t go round with gloomy faces, because the greatest words in the Bible are not, "Thou shalt not", but "God is Love".

But we’re not all back-slapping and matey, either. People sometimes come to church who are in no mood to be jolly, and we respect that.

We do try to make people welcome, to listen to people. We aren’t gloomy, because we believe that we have good news to share.

Good News

The Good News is this: no matter what may be wrong in anyone’s life, and no matter whether it is their fault or not, God still loves that person.

That person may be you. You don’t have to keep secrets from God, He knows everything, and He loves you as you are.

If you have done something wrong, no matter how terrible, just ask Him to forgive you, He is longing for you to give Him the chance!

No matter what punishment we may think we deserve, Jesus has taken it on for us, when He died on the cross. He died and came back to life: it’s as if death was a prison, but Jesus broke out, and left the door open, so that we could come out too.

Ask Him into your life today. If you’re not sure how, talk to a Christian friend, or get in touch with us. We’d love to hear from you, and we won’t put any pressure on you.

God bless you.

A Prayer

Lord Jesus,

thank you for loving me so much,

and for dying and rising again for me.

Please forgive me anything I have done wrong,

and anything I haven’t done right.

Please come into my life as my Lord and Saviour,

and help me to love you more and more. Amen.
